A big thank you to the volunteers and residents who, despite the cold weather, came out to the Richmond Resilient Partners event at Ironwood Plaza on February 6.
Resilient communities are built through collaboration and partnerships. The special event was hosted by the City of Richmond’s Emergency Programs team in collaboration with London Drugs, Richmond Fire-Rescue and the Smart Cities Challenge Project Office. Throughout the afternoon, residents learned how to prepare for emergencies, viewed first hand Richmond Fire-Rescue’s newest Quint 6 Fire Truck, all while taking advantage of London Drugs in-store promotions on items to build emergency kits.
The Smart Cities Challenge Street team highlighted also had the chance to highlight how Richmond’s Smart Cities projects would not only enhance the day to day quality of life for Richmond residents, but would increase the resilience of our community in the event of an emergency.
A special thank you to Emergency Programs, Richmond Fire-Rescue and to London Drugs for being a part of another successful event.
